WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, issued the following statement after meeting with Judge Amy Coney Barrett, the president’s nominee to be an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

“Judge Barrett will be true to the Constitution. That’s exactly what people in Wyoming are looking for in a Supreme Court Justice.

“As last week’s confirmation hearings showed, she is experienced, qualified, and a true intellect. The Judge Barrett that Americans saw last week is the same Judge Barrett I met with today.

“Judge Barrett will apply the law, not legislate from the bench. I’m looking forward to supporting her confirmation.”
