WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) was officially sworn in as a member of the 116th Congress representing Wyoming in the U.S. Senate. He released the following statement about his service:

“I am honored to represent the people of Wyoming in the U.S. Senate for six more years,” said Barrasso. “My focus remains on improving the quality of life for Wyoming families. This means good jobs, a strong economy, and a safe, strong and free America. We will continue our work to secure our borders and confirm federal judges who will apply the law, not legislate from the bench. I look forward to working with Senator Enzi and Representative Cheney as we continue to stand up for Wyoming’s ideas and values in Washington.”

In the 116th Congress, Barrasso will also serve as chairman of the Republican Conference, the No. 3 leadership position for Senate Republicans.

Additionally, Barrasso serves as chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and is a member of the Energy and Natural Resources, Indian Affairs and Foreign Relations committees.
