Barrasso applauds Senate’s vote to confirm Andrew Wheeler as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), released the following statement on the Senate confirmation of Andrew Wheeler to serve as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Senate voted 52 to 47 to confirm Wheeler.
“The Senate has taken decisive action to confirm Andrew Wheeler as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency,” said Barrasso. “I believe he will do an excellent job leading the agency. As acting administrator of EPA, he has prioritized commonsense policies that protect our air and water, while allowing our economy to grow. I look forward to working with Administrator Wheeler in his new role.”
On January 15, 2019, Barrasso published an op-ed in USA Today in support of Wheeler’s nomination title, “President Trump Made the Right Pick for EPA.”
