WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement regarding Senator Lamar Alexander’s (R-Tenn.) decision to resign as Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference in January 2012:
“Senator Alexander has done an exceptional job as Chairman of our conference. His vast public service experience and thoughtful leadership has enabled us to communicate more effectively with the American people. In the words of his grandfather, Lamar has always encouraged our conference to ‘aim for the top.’ We will miss him at the leadership table.
“I value Lamar’s judgment and his friendship. I look forward to continuing to work with him.”
