Barrasso Presses USFS Chief Tidwell on Sage Grouse, Maintenance Backlog

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) questioned U.S. Forest Service (USFS) Chief Thomas Tidwell about sage grouse conservation plans and the USFS maintenance backlog. Barrasso specifically called on Tidwell to justify adding new administrative staff, new land acquisitions and new roads when the USFS currently has a $5 billion maintenance backlog.

Barrasso Calls on Energy Secretary to Approve U.S. LNG Exports and Stop Russian-German Gas Pipeline

Barrasso also urged the administration to do everything it can to stop the Russian-German Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project from moving forward.

Barrasso: States Should Regulate Coal Ash, Not Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) spoke about the need for bipartisan coal ash legislation at a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing. The hearing included testimony on the Improving Coal Combustion Residuals Regulation Act of 2016 (S. 2446), which was introduced by Senators John Hoeven (R-ND) and Joe Manchin (D-WV). The bill would give states the authority regulate the byproduct of burning coal, commonly referred to as coal ash.
