Barrasso Applauds U.S. Job Growth in June

June 2007 Marks 46th Consecutive Month of Job Growth

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) applauded news from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), which reported that 132,000 jobs were created in June 2007. Since August 2003, more than 8.2 million new jobs have been created, with more than 2 million jobs created in the last year.

“This report is proof of America’s continued growth and vitality,” Barrasso said. “Our nation’s unemployment rate remains a low 4.5 percent, and Wyoming’s unemployment rate continues to be one of the lowest in the nation. People’s income has risen nearly $3,000 per person since 2001, and the economy has now experienced over five years of uninterrupted growth.”

“As a U.S. Senator from Wyoming, I will work to sponsor and vote for legislation that will keep people’s hard earned dollars in their pockets, and keep our economy moving forward.”
