WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), a member of the Republican Leadership Whip Team, made the following statement upon final passage of the Senate version of the president’s budget, S. Con. Res. 13:

“This budget taxes too much, spends too much, and borrows too much.  It will burden our children and grandchildren for generations,” Barrasso said.

“Washington needs to take a lesson from Wyoming. In Wyoming we understand that balancing a budget requires living within our means,” Barrasso said. “We tighten our belts when costs need to be cut. Wyoming understands that you can’t spend your way to prosperity or borrow your way out of debt.”
