WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement after meeting with U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch:

“I just had a great visit with Neil Gorsuch. Neil Gorsuch, in my opinion, is the right person for America and certainly from a Wyoming standpoint. His mom was born in Casper. The family built the Wolf Hotel in Saratoga before Wyoming was even a state.

“But the thing I like best about Judge Gorsuch is that he believes and understands fully that the Constitution is a legal document, not a living document. It was built for rigidity, not flexibility.

“He is one justice who will make sure that he applies the law and doesn’t write the law. I look forward to supporting his nomination.”
