WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement after the Senate rejected a Congressional Review Act resolution introduced by Senate Democrats to overturn President Trump’s guidance giving states more flexibility to offer affordable health insurance options.

“This vote was about Washington Democrats making it harder for states to innovate and lower premium costs. That includes harming health care innovation in several states with Democrat governors, who are using the flexibility granted by the Trump administration to lower insurance premiums. While those Democrat governors are taking advantage of the Trump administration’s action, Democrat senators are against it.

“Republicans are committed to bringing down health care costs and protecting people with pre-existing conditions. We won’t let Democrats’ hypocrisy stand in the way of our efforts to make health care more affordable for American families.”
